What is the worst thing a person can put in their bio on a dating app?

A dating app bio might not sound like a big deal, but since apps are filled with a sea of faces, your profile โ€” the bio you craft, photos you feature, and prompts you choose to answer โ€” is your chance to stand out and make a lasting first impression.

Creating a bio for dating apps is a lot of pressure – do I have to be funny? If I try to be funny, will it look like I’m trying too hard? If I’m serious about my dating wants, will I seem too serious? OMG! It’s so complicated! But, unsurprisingly it’s pretty easy to seem like a total ass wipe.

I’ve seen too many guys with an exhaustive list of demands and requirements including how much a woman needs to weigh (Yeah I’m fucking for real.) How much money she needs to earn, what hobbies she must be into, the type of job she should have… Requirements for a healthy uterus… REQUIREMENTS FOR A HEALTHY UTERUS?!

The list goes on, and on, and on… And his name is always something like Keith, and he’s 28 and works in “finance”.

In the humble words of Kim Fox, please – DO ME A FAVOUR!!

BBC EastEnders

People who are swimming in the dating pool will know what I am on about here, I went back on Tinder the other day and lasted a whole five minutes before telling myself (for the 1000th time) that this is not for me and I deactivated.

Below is a selection of the things I’ve seen and I’m sure you’ve seen, that just give me the right ICK.

A photo of someone holding a baby coupled with the clarification, “Not my baby”

What are you trying trying to prove here? Please stop using other people’s cute babies to make yourselves look good and then clarifying they’re not your babies. It’s played out!

“I’m looking for someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously”

All I am taking from this is – emotionally unavailable. Bye.

People who try to get you follow them on social media

“Add me on Snapchat” – 100% you are not for me.

No Bio.

If there’s one thing worse than a cheesy bio, it’s a profile with no bio at all.

“good vibes only”

See above – “I’m looking for someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously”

Techno vibes

Really think about your music choices, because not everyday EDM.

Entrepreneur โ€“ Guy w/ Entrepreneur In His Bio

Obviously an unemployed, “drug-dealer” bye.

I Have Two Roommates

It’s your mum and dad isn’t it?

Is it possible to write about yourself without sounding like a complete tool?

Stay safe and take care,

Sammi xx

  1. I met my partner on Tinder, but I was honestly not looking for a relationship, and he hooked me in with how NORMAL he was. I think he’s the only normal guy I’ve ever seen on there, though!
