The Big Christmas Press Show returned this September, and this years event was bigger than ever. This was the second time I have attended with the toy industry taking main stage at the show, with companies including Moose, JoJo Maman Bébé, Sambro Toys, Schleich and Epoch all coming together under one roof to showcase their hottest products and offerings for Christmas, to all media industry attendees.
CIJ Group shared their delight at bringing back one of its biggest and long standing clients in the toy realm, Playtime PR, which represented ten brands at The Big Christmas Press Show 2022. Joining them in the Toys & Children’s Games category were KAP Toys, Big Potato Games and Just Play.
Each year, the organisers welcome 900+ media to the show across national, print, online and broadcast, with one day of the show solely dedicated to influencers. The Big Christmas Press Show offered attendees even more exclusives this year, including the launch of the first CIJ inspired mixer evening at the show, an exciting prize draw and a pamper zone.
As I entered, registration was pretty straight forward, I received my influencer card and a token for lunch with Berry & Brie #YUM
The first brand stalls I noticed were Ebay, Freemans, and Tamagotchi UK – ULTIMATE 90’S nostalgia! I had a little play around on one and I forgot how addictive these things were!

I went around talking to various brands about what I was looking for in hope of gaining inspiration for my Christmas Gift Guide and building connections. Along the way I noticed this DEAD CUTE cake stand, all cakes produced by Piglets Pantry – I tasted the Banana and Blueberry offering and it was DELICIOUS!
There were a lot of brand interactive stalls this time around – for example, spinning a wheel with Cohorted to win a gift, having a drink with Kingsland Drinks/Crate Comms ensured a percentage donated to a charity – which I really liked. The Hidden Sea brand was particularly interesting and I really loved how their premium wines carry a meaningful message and action to remove and recycle 10 plastic bottles from oceans and rivers for every bottle of wine they sell – check them out here!
Baylis and Harding showcased some of their newest sustainable gifts that are set to be big sellers including favourites like the fuzzy duck cotswold collection that I was really taken by, the packaging has a sense of calm about it and a cosy self care feel, I was definitely drawn to it and cannot wait to share it with my followers and readers. The ladies on the marketing team were so very helpful and I enjoyed how interactive they were and the genuine interest they showed in what I do.
The whole stand itself was beautiful and I really wanted to take the tub full of baubles home! Unfortunately that was not possible, but I did receive a beautiful bauble that I am looking forward to hanging on this years tree!

Looking at the beauty brands was a major key for me this year, as my Christmas Gift Guide is aimed at single women and self care to get through the holidays, combat loneliness and promote positive, sensible and sustainable ways to keep your mental health, healthy!
I know beauty products will have a large section of coverage, what woman doesn’t love looking after and prettifying themselves?
I made my way to the Cohorted stand and they offer some pretty impressive products in their subscription boxes. They even had a huge advent calendar that a woman like me dreams of! Beautifully packaged and all the treats are high end products that have been carefully selected.
The Big Christmas Press Show is a great way to get into the spirit (September is never too early) and come and meet over 100 brands in a prime location at the Business Design Centre from the likes of Freemans, The V&A, eBay, Paperchase, JoJo Maman Bébé, Just Play, Tamagotchi, Cartwright & Butler, Dobbies Garden Centre, Balsam Hill, Russell Hobbs, Remington and so many more.
This The Big Christmas Press Show event is an exclusive preview of the MUST-have products for your shopping pages, gift guides, and affiliate pages and encourages you to forge brilliant connections with these top brands and retailers for content creation purposes.
The CIJ Group that puts the event together do it really well, they hold the needs and standards of content creators and influencers really high and provide one of the best experiences of hosting, networking, building and enjoying all things Christmas!
