Inside the Met Gala afterparties as Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevigne and Cardi B let loose
The gala is a fundraiser dedicated to New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute – formally named The Anna Wintour Costume Center, in homage to the American Vogue’s editor-in-chief, who has been a chair member of the museum’s gala since 1995.
The benefit founded in 1948 by publicist Eleanor Lambert was to encourage donations from New York’s high society.
Usually happening every first Monday of May, with the exception of last year when it took place in September due to the pandemic.
The Kardashian, Kardashian-Jenners and Hadids spent the evening dressed in their finery and maintaining their poise as they attended the annual Met Gala and followed the Gilded Glamour theme.
Kim Kardashian is known for her dedication to fashion, and this year’s Met Gala look was no different.
Kardashian sported the iconic dress that Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy almost 60 years ago.
After so much “Gilded Glamour” the stars were quick to let loose as they stepped off the red carpet and headed to various afterparties across the city later in the evening.
While they may have been on their best behaviour inside the benefit – where tickets can cost up to $35,000 apiece – the likes of Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevigne, Hailey Bieber and Cardi B were keen to let their hair down as they party hopped after the event.
Kendall stepped out post-Met Gala for a party at Zero Bond in what looks to be a vintage-inspired bra and underwear set, which she paired with a lace slip skirt and matching cami. She also went ahead and coloured in her previously bleached brows. Kendall was joined at the Met Gala after party by Hailey Bieber, who wore a sparkly triangle bra paired with a blazer, shorts, and strappy red heels.
Across town Cardi B was hosting her own afterparty with Playboy at the Standard, and seemed to show no signs of fatigue as she was spotted dancing on the tables.
The Casa Cipriani after-party was hosted by super models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell drew A-listers like Vanessa Hudgens, Cara Delevingne, Gunna, Bella Hadid, Ansel Elgort, Jared Leto, Leonardo DiCaprio, Billie Eilish, Winnie Harlow and Joshua Jackson.
Cara Delevingne appeared to be very worse for wear on Monday night as pictures show the model being held up by Vanessa Hudgens and Megan Thee Stallion while leaving the raucous Met Gala afterparty in New York.
The 29-year-old, who went topless earlier in the evening at the iconic event, had been one of the revellers at the Casa Cipriani bash, with the celebrations seeming to have taken their toll on the bleary-eyed star.
The Met Ball or Met Gala is the fashion world equivalent of the Oscars, an evening when designers, models, and Hollywood stars convene in the year’s most over-the-top looks.
Clearly going ‘Over the top’ extends further than the red carpet walk and I am totally here for the pics.
