Happy New Year – A 2022 Intention.
As 2021 comes to a close, it may be difficult to find the good in what it’s brought. Due to the continued impact of COVID-19, the increase in domestic violence, and the growing threat of climate-related conflict (just to name a few examples), this year’s events have created unexpected change in everyone’s lives. The ending of a year would usually bring about joyous moments and an exciting list of New Year’s resolutions to accomplish, but instead, 2021 has left us desperately in need of hope, healing, and peace.
Kicking the year off with New Year’s affirmations and prayers can help you set the best intentions for 2022, even if the stressors of 2021 don’t disappear the moment the clock strikes midnight on January 1.
Affirmations work as much as you believe in them, so believe and succeed. There are also plenty of prayers that can be applied to any area of your life, even if you are not religious yourself.
I would like to take this moment to thank each and every one of you, my readers, my inspirers, my muses, my friends, my family, everyone that has accepted me being my most authentic and creative self, and even those that have been committed to discouraging me, hoping that I fall – I want to thank you – For being you. For sticking with me. For all your feedback and constructive criticisms. For growing with me and for the majority of you – being lovely people. For remaining strong and resilient in one of the toughest times we have ever had to live through. For confiding in me, sharing your stories and experiences. For your continued support.
Please join me in reading this Affirmation/prayer to bring us into 2022 with the most powerful energies that exist within us to start a new chapter with the right vibe – Love and Gratitude.
(You can read it in your head, it’s absolutely fine, but for the purpose of filling yourself all the way up, speaking aloud works best)
Dear God/Universe/My Higher Power,
Thank you for all the blessings you gave me in 2021. Even if they are not directly in my vision I have faith that I will see them as I continue to walk in faith and not fear.
Thank you, for the blessings you have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions.
Thank you, for keeping me safe. For helping me overcome fears and protecting me from things that seem to haunt others. Thank you for helping me make better choices and providing me with advisors to help me with life’s difficult decisions. You speak to me in so many ways so that I always know you are here. Every person I meet can teach me something. I am grateful for our paths crossing and their wisdom.
I am so grateful for you keeping those around me safe and loved. I hope that you provide me with the ability and sense to show them every day how much they matter. I hope that you give me the ability to give to them the same kindness they have provided to me.
As we enter 2022, give me the courage to begin again — to overlook the difficulties, to overcome the obstacles and to stay open to the moment as best I can. Help me be patient enough to know it takes time to start over, and wise enough to ask for help from friends and family when I need it. As I look to the future, may I reflect on the past and remember the lessons it’s taught me. And, may I always look to you for strength and guidance.
On this day I ask You to grant this request,
May I know who I am and what I am, every moment of every day.
May I be a catalyst for light and love, and bring inspiration to those whose eyes I meet.
May I have the strength to stand tall in the face of conflict, and the courage to speak my voice, even when I’m scared.
May I have the humility to follow my heart, and the passion to live my soul’s desires.
May I seek to know the highest truth, and dismiss the gravitational pull of my lower self.
May I embrace and love the totality of myself. My darkness as well as my light.
May I be brave enough to hear my heart. To let it soften so that I may gracefully choose faith over fear.
Today is my day to surrender anything that stands between the sacredness of my humanity and my divinity.
Thank you for all the blessings in abundance. I am open to receive.
And in the words of Drake – ‘Strength and Guidance, all that I’m wishing for my friends’
Stay safe, have a happy new year and take care,
