The Wolseley for Breakfast!
I visited The Wolseley for breakfast with my family and the service was top notch!
My brother arranged our meet up and had been handed this mornings newspaper to read while he waited for me and my sister to arrive (it’s those little touches from the staff that really impressed me) Once seated, staff were very attentive and our coffee’s and breakfast came in good time.
Looking through their classic coffee menu I came across the cognac laced ‘Imperial Wolseley’ which yes – combines coffee, cognac and cream. Of course we tried it! I actually really liked it after adding some sugar but it was a bit rich for my sister. For breakfast we all ate the pancakes with seasonal berries, stacks of fluffy pancakes with strawberries, blackberries and some syrup on the side. Delicious, filling and the perfect way to start the day!
The building stands firm but humble next to The Ritz with stunning decor inside. The grand dining hall has was a pleasure to sit and eat in with its high ceilings and iron chandeliers. The Japanese panels throughout compliment it’s 1920’s grandeur very well, whilst the display of silverware only adds to the decadence of The Wolseley.
As I looked around I could see that this was a place where everyone was welcome, a fine division of formal or informal. A real gem in the heart of Piccadilly that hones in on the essence of fine dining.
