The frozen cucumber TikTok hack: An OBSESSION.
TikTok is obsessed with this frozen cucumber hack that makes redness and irritation a thing of the past
Honestly, nothing surprises me with TikTok anymore
If you have TikTok, you might have come across the 5 minute face lift hack — and the results are impressive to say the least. Then there’s the centuries old technique using the Gua Sha that can help relax muscle tension and reduce puffy skin. Lately, though, TikTok’s beauty enthusiasts can’t get enough of the frozen cucumber hack, which they claim makes dull skin glow, and I for one am here for it!
It makes sense in that using cold water and ice on our face is known for reducing inflammation, toning the skin and reducing the size of pores. Marilyn Monroe herself used to wash her face only with ice water.
Cucumber is an added bonus because it’s full of antioxidants and vitamins. According to Medical News Today cucumber is an excellent source of vitamins C and K and research suggests that it reduces inflammation and dark circles.
All you need to do for this hack is buy a cucumber, cut off the end and pop it in the freezer. In the morning, wrap the uncut end in a towel or cloth to protect your hands and gently swirl all of that cucumber goodness around your face, using an upward motion. Also, remember to cut the end off each time you use it so that you’re using a clean cucumber surface each time. If you’re unsure, watch me ice my face here.
Personally, this has done more for my skin than a face mask and £8 bottle of hyaluronic acid. I have noticed my dark circles lightening, skin is more toned and tight and a lot of people have commented on my cucumber glow! I love the way my skin feels so refreshed after icing my face and how fresh it smells! I have been doing this near enough everyday for the past 2 weeks and it’s pretty safe to say I am OBSESSED.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but the change from a bottle of hyaluronic acid to a 50p cucumber has proven to be so worth it.
Stay safe, ice that face & take care,
