5 Books that should become your bibles

5 Books that should become your bibles

I spend most of my free time reading. There is nothing better than a good book on the law of attraction that is able to easily translate how to put it into practice. A book that gets you excited for life.

Books are a safe haven that help us escape the harsh edges of our lives, but every once in a while we come across a book that follows us into the real world. A book that hurdles us into a state of self-reflection and completely revamps our personal perspective. They’re hard to find, but completely impossible to forget when we do.

The funny thing about all of these books is that they all more or less say the same thing: mind your own thoughts, stay positive and focused on your goals, ignore self-doubt and criticism, visualize and concentrate on what you want and you will eventually have it.

The books below are some of my all-time favorites on the topics of manifesting and the law of attraction. They’re easy to understand and they get me excited every time I read them.

The Secret

The Secret is a self-help book about the power of positive thinking by Rhonda Byrne. The book is based on a pseudo-scientific theory called the “law of attraction” – the principle that “like attracts like.” Specifically, Byrne focuses on the idea that your dreams do in fact come true – thinking about money and wealth will attract these very things, causing them to manifest in your life. Likewise, fretting over a worst-case scenario will only cause your fears to be realized. Hence the importance of positive thinking. There are no accidents and bad luck. Instead, Byrne writes, “Your life right now is a reflection of your past thoughts.”

Throughout the book, Byrne explains the science behind the law of attraction. She claims that it is supported by quantum physics, where the consensus is that the mind is powerful enough to create anything – including the Universe itself. Thus, the law of attraction is a law of nature. Like gravity, it applies whether you know it or not. The benefit of understanding the law of attraction is that you can use it to your advantage once you know how it works.

Personal Opinion: A great starting point to understanding energy, frequencies and manifestation. I often refer back to The Secret when I am in need of an energy shift or to rid my mindset of negativity. After practicing manifestation and using the Law of Attraction for over 10 years unfortunately I am not a millionaire so please do not be so naiive as to expect such things in short amounts of time. Practice makes perfect and leads to a more positive life. Take what you will from the book, and be mindful of your thoughts.

The Alchemist

Paulo Coelho’s masterpiece tells the mystical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure. His quest will lead him to riches far different—and far more satisfying—than he ever imagined. Santiago’s journey teaches us about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, of recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life’s path, and, most importantly, to follow our dreams.

The Alchemist does not get away from the fact that dreams have a price but, as Coelho has said in interviews, not living your dreams also has a price. For the same money, he said, you can either buy a horrible jacket that does not fit or one that suits you and looks right. It is better to have problems that make sense because they are part of what you are trying to achieve.

The Alchemist is remarkable for being a love story that renounces the idea that romantic love must be central to people’s lives. Each person has a destiny that exists independently of others. It is the thing that you would do or be even if you had all the love and money you want.

Personal Opinion: It is definitely a motivational read, I tend to re read this just a couple of times a year. As you re read and apply certain aspects to your thinking, the book becomes less and less delusional. For anyone who wants to escape from reality but also to understand reality, “The Alchemist” offers the best of both worlds. However, “The Alchemist” also supplies insight and inspiration that extends beyond Santiago’s Sahara and into all lives, whether young, old, or teenage. “The Alchemist” may not be your regular fiction book, but it most definitely deserves a place on your bookshelf.

Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams

Mike Dooley knows that we create our own reality, our own fate, and our own luck. We’re beings filled with infinite possibilities, ready to explore how powerful we truly are. Infinite Possibilities reveals our true spiritual nature and exactly what it takes to find happiness and fulfillment during the metamorphosis of consciousness that’s taking place. It covers the entire spectrum of reality, from beliefs and intuition to creative visualization to thoughts and manifestations.

If someone told you the truth about life, reality, and the powers you possessed, would you recognize it as the truth? If someone offered you keys to the kingdom of your wildest dreams, would you accept them? It might not be so easy, given our immersion in a society that tells us that we’re limited, aging “creatures,” who live lives between luck and fate, in a hard, unforgiving world. But the truth, and this will likely ring bells in your heart of hearts, is that we are INFINITE and POWERFUL, fun loving gladiators of the Universe; Adventurers just being human, with eternity before us, and the power of our thoughts to help shape it.

Blood, sweat and tears ARE NOT what it takes to see your dreams come true. Imagination, belief and expectation are what’s needed. Then you’re drawn into action, circumstances and “coincidences” that make dream manifestation INEVITABLE. This isn’t wishful thinking; it’s the way things have always been in time and space. You don’t need more education, more connections, or more lucky breaks, you just need to understand the principles that every prophet and messiah has shared since the beginning of time. Principles that have nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with the truth about who you are, why you’re here, and the magic at your disposal. There is nothing you can’t do, nothing you can’t have, and nothing you can’t be.

Personal Opinion: Mike Dooley has such a fun, inspiring way of suggesting how to achieve magical things. He explains life in such a way that really feels right to me, and I love that he says you’ll know the truth because of the way it makes you feel. This is my go-to book just to re-read through my highlighted sections and be instantly encouraged to make things happen!

Super Attractor: Methods for Manifesting a Life beyond Your Wildest Dreams

This book is a journey of remembering where your true power lies. You’ll learn how to co-create the life you want. You’ll accept that life can flow, that attracting is fun, and that you don’t have to work so hard to get what you want. Most importantly, you’ll feel good. And when you feel good, you give off a presence of joy that elevates everyone around you.

What you believe, you will receive. But we are always receiving—we’re just not always receiving what we want. Being a super attractor means that our focus is on feeling good—on what we believe are good-feeling emotions and good-feeling experiences—so that what we attract is that reflection, its likeness. When we focus on what’s working rather than what’s not working, when we’re focused on how we can feel better in this moment, how we can have more fun, that’s when we start to be full-blown super attractors.

Personal Opinion: What makes Super Attractor so special is that it’s essentially a complete how-to book on manifestation, outlining all of the essential methods for manifesting a life even greater than what you could ever dream of. What I love about Bernstein’s writing is that she writes like your loving, supportive friend, and above all, she encourages fun, relaxation, joy, and feeling good. This is the book that removes difficulty and struggle from manifestation and shows you how fun it can be to create the life of your dreams.

Frequency: The Power of Personal Vibration

As we move from the Information Age to the Intuition Age, we need new methods for navigating in an accelerating world. Frequency is the seminal book on living in an energy-based reality–and it provides a reassuring, step-by-step roadmap into a positive state of awareness.

A simple shift in frequency can change depression to peace, anger to stillness, and fear to enthusiasm. Learning to manage our own energy state can put us on track with our destiny–the life we’re built for. You have a choice about the way you feel and what your life can be.

This is a dramatic time when many of us are “frequency-sorting,” deciding who we want to be, who we want as friends and colleagues, and what we want our life to feel like. We’re letting go of old, ineffective habits and toxic people. We’re chafing at any reality that’s too limiting. Frequency helps you become clear–and quickly.

Personal Opinion: Frequency is an amazing book, synthesizing diverse views for expanding our perception and developing extraordinary human capacities. It’s a handbook for the future, and will be an invaluable personal guide for adapting in a healthy and creative way to living in this accelerating world.

I hope you enjoyed this review of the 5 Books that should become your bibles!

Even though the books in this list are quite similar to each other, they are all helping us understand the nature of the universe and how we can use them to get exactly what we want in life.
