From its ancient past as a Roman trading ground to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the British financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London’s most historic and eye catching neighbourhoods home to stunning architectural marvels including Christopher Wren’s remarkable St. Paul’s Cathedral, and John Soane’s gothic classicist Bank of England.

This neighbourhood has the perfect ambience for early evening drinks whatever the weather, luckily for us it was a lovely autumn evening, and we settled on having drinks at the Cote Brasserie whilst watching the last rays of sun flirting with the sky before night fell. It did get a bit chilly nips mind you, so we moved ourselves back inside.

Whilst I do aim to try different foods, this evening was not spent eating. Cote Brasserie is elegant yet comfortable and invited a conscious conversation between myself and my brother Billy which was washed down well with some white wine and a Rhubarb Martini.

(Definitely a fan of Rhubarb now)
