90s LOVER R.A.E is back with NEW single ‘W.A.I’

Residing under the moniker R.A.E (Rising Above Everything), the 90s fiend is back with her  single ‘W.A.I’ from her forthcoming self-titled EP, “R.A.E”.

W.A.I is a catchy anthem which explores  situationships experienced by independent women of today. W.A.I show’s R.A.E’s ability to empower women through a simple but feel good chorus and verses which takes us on a journey of self-realisation, independence and growth. The video which is inspired by Cleopatra’s “Coming Atcha”, is set in a bedroom with R.A.E alongside her two of her friends at a sleepover, doing what young women do.

Off the back of a co-sign by Jermaine Dupri, viral on social media in early 2019 with clips of her first two singles Damn Jermaine and Oi Son the young rapper from south east London has drummed up early support from the likes of BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio London & Trench Magazine and had her music shared by artists like Dave & Nadia Rose; however it was Reprezent Radio’s early support that got her a slot on their line up at Parklife Festival this year.

Her ability to effortlessly spill strong narratives over boom-bap beats is what makes her enticing & Haters is a full display of her vocal ability throughout the hooks and captivating verses. Alongside a video that encapsulates the colourful nature of R.A.E’s artistry, it’s R.A.E’s ease in ability to create feel good songs for a generation of young, excited and labelless people exploring life and having a plethora of stories to tell and relate to.

R.A.E (Rising Above Everything) is a rapper/singer from Thamesmead S.E London, with an obvious 90’s style translating through her music. Growing up influenced by the likes of Left Eye, Da Brat and Mc Lyte, R.A.E is flipping the classic American aesthetic, with a British twist. After falling in love with writing with an introduction to Sister Act from her big sister, she started rapping in school alongside other girls in the playground. R.A.E is bringing a fresh new sound unheard in the UK, with easy melodies and uplifting raps.
