Mayday – Octobers Very Own Ghost
Release Date: 19/4/19
Fully embracing his ‘Year of More’ ethos, ‘Octobers Very Own Ghost’ is the second song off the upcoming Mayday project ‘Ghost Of October’. The Birmingham native follows up ‘Estates A State’ with a forward thinking focused song. “0121s next great hope”, self anointed and with a relentless work ethic to support the claim show this is a fast-rising artist who knows where he is going. ‘Octobers Very Own Ghost’ helps explain the way paving blueprint.
A look back in time from poor, humble beginnings is a common reference in his music and with lines like “have you ever been so broke that you don’t remember your own pin code?”, shows that Mayday’s origin story serves as a reminder to always remember where he came from. The song is produced and engineered by DubzCo, AKA Trix, who took the vocal and built the beat around it, a first for the Kingstanding Captain.
Now, with 2 songs from his upcoming project out and aiming for a June/July release for his project, Octobers Very Own Ghost has again shown Mayday’s experimental side, both sonically and lyricially.
